New Year's Resolutions 2022

Updated: Mar 10, 2022

We always view the new year as a fresh start, and many people start their year off by setting a goal or resolution for themselves to improve their mental and physical wellbeing, or to make themselves a better person in general, for example a very popular resolution is to hold back on something unhealthy, such as cake. Other resolutions are a little more, let’s say, grown up, like doing community service, visiting a care home or donating food, clothes and money to those who need it. It’s hard to think of a resolution which is worthwhile, and that you will be able to keep for a whole year, so instead of spending hours sleeping on it, try one of these 10 New Year's resolutions for 2022!

1. Get some exercise

We’ve blamed COVID-19 for our increase in laziness for about two years now, and it’s time to stop pointing fingers and actually do something! Try doing some yoga or go for a morning jog.

2. Donate things you don’t use to charity

There are lot’s of charities such as Comic Relief, Children in Need and Lumos who work to make the tough lives of children all around the world better. You can donate money online, and some schools provide opportunities to give clothes, books and toys.

3. Don’t waste food

It takes a lot of time, energy and money to produce a single crop. There are so many people out there without food, water and a roof over their heads. Lots of small children die of starvation and other diseases due to the lack of food, and it isn’t fair that we waste food when they don’t even have any.

4. Reduce Screen Time

We spent an unhealthy time on our tech and it’s started to become addictive. Yes, I know it's awesome (I’m not a millennial), but there’s a whole new world out there that’s not going to wait for us to explore it. There are many problems cropping up, such as obesity, sleep problems, chronic neck and back problems, depression, anxiety and lower test scores.

5. Be happy with what you have

It’s okay to treat yourself now and then with a spa day, or shopping spree but be grateful with what you have. Think about what you have and what you’ve been blessed with, starting with a roof over your head and food. Stop saying I want, I want, I want, ‘cos that’s crazy.
